It has been ten years in the making and it is finally arrived; the end of one of the greatest movie franchises: Harry Potter. I admit that I was feeling sentimental about the last film being released. A part of me wanted to wallow in a corner while another part of me wanted to jump for joy. I've been watching these films for ten years and been familiar with the world of Harry Potter for much longer. I have enjoyed all the Harry Potter films. I will admit that some films have been better than others but all have been great fun. My friends and I were always looking forward to the Harry Potter films, now there are no more films to look forward to. The first part of the Deathly Hallows series was great and the ending was a perfect set up for the final chapter. Prior to the release the reviews were nothing short of spectacular. This made my heart beam with proud. All the films have been well reviewed but the reviews for this particular film were insane. I hoped that it would be worth the $14 that I was paying to see it in IMAX 3D.
The film began with a quick review of the what happened in the first part. There was no intro just straight to the action. I really appreciated this choice of editing on the Director part. About twenty minutes into the film the golden trio were already back in Hogwarts for the final battle. The entire battle at Hogwarts was epic, I am talking about Lord of the Rings epicness. I feel that the characters Molly Weasley, Severus Snape and Neville Longbottom shined in this film. The final performance from Alan Rickman(Severus Snape) gave me goosebumps. You might want to grab you tissues because his story-line is without doubt tragically beautiful. Severus Snape is the anti-hero in the series and Alan Rickman brings so much life to the character that you cannot help but feel for him. I felt that the editing, directing, and cinematography were all great in this film. The score was fantastic esepcially Lily's Theme. I felt that it was well written and that all the actors brought their A game to final film. There were tons of hilarious moments and moments that got the audience up on their feet( a certain kiss, a certain line and a certain death to name a few). If you have never seen a Harry Potter film before this is the one not to be missed. It lets all the loose ends in the previous films come together. It is worth the ticket price. I will say it was probably my favorite film in the entire series.
